I met Birgitta in Portugal in connection with an exhibition we both participated in, as we both became members of Alternative 1 (see below) and she is primarily a poet but much more than that. She is from Iceland and as many women are from up there; a strong indivdual. Her page is worth a visit.

Alternative 1

Alternative 1 is a group of artists from Portugal and elsewhere in the world, founded by Teresa Torres in 1999. I was invited to join and this is the main reason why I moved to Portugal the same year, although the group is "sleeping" now. and Karstein is another talented Norwegian artist who has ended up in Helsinki, Finland. He's also the frontman of a band named Nazda which makes somewhat melancholic and brooding rock a little out on the ledge on the side of it all. Karstein is also a talented web designer.
